Database Practice

1. Develop standards, policies, and procedures supporting DBMS technical platforms and the applications development lifecycle * Establish a "single-point-of-contact" and actively influence DBMS vendor relationships
   
2. Design the database environments and physical database structures based on physical data models and transaction analysis
3. Provide technical expertise in the design, implementation, and support of an integrated data warehouse, reference database, and repository environment
4. Conduct database design, SQL code, and configuration reviews
5. Provide database system administration and server management support for Sybase and Oracle in all database environments
6. Provide performance monitoring, tuning, backup, and recovery in all database environments
7. Perform migration of database structures from one database environment to another
8. Evaluate, recommend, and support DBA tools related to performing database creation, maintenance, and database monitoring task
