Course Description:
The Software QA course in NJ offered at Information Technology & Management focuses on the essential skills needed to efficiently test applications manually or through automation. Our software Quality Assurance classes are instructor-led and highly interactive. Each class includes lectures, discussions and lab exercises in software testing and quality assurance. You will have access to a UNIX, SQL & HP QTP environment in ITM’s classroom network and will be attending class in a fully-functional quality software assurance environment. You will also be given an online account to access classroom materials with detailed, step-by-step instructions for hands-on activities.
At the end of your Software QA training, you may enroll in an optional project that will give you valuable experience in software qualification testing.

Information Technology & Management’s online quality assurance courses provide the same high-level of instructor interaction and practical training as our on-campus courses.
The Software QA course is divided into six modules:
- UNIX for Testers
- SQL for Testers
- Manual Testing
- QuickTest Professional: Basics (Level 1)
- Quality Center (TestDirector)
- Interview Preparations
The final project is a student presentation based on a QA testing case study.
Who Should Attend:
The Software QA Certification training course in NJ is designed primarily for non-technical students. A programming background is preferred, but not essential, and will be introduced during the UNIX, SQL, and QTP modules.
Prerequisites:
Students enrolling in the Software Quality Assurance Certification program should be familiar with
- Windows O/S: 95/98, NT 4.0, Windows Professional 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7
- Windows Explorer, DOS Commands, NotePad, and Editor
- MS SQL Server Database (RDBMS) and SQL
- An understanding of Client Server and Web applications, as well as Basic Programming (C, C++, JAVA, Visual Basic, COBOL, Fortran) concepts is helpful, but not required.
